Welcome all!

Good morning! Good morning!! First, I'd like to start off by welcoming you to our website. We are so excited to be up and running with our rabbitry and hope you can learn and grow with us, as well.

My husband, Levi, came to me one evening in 2020, with ideas of how we could become more self sufficient. During a very trying time in our country, we found it best to try and plan our family's future by not having to rely completely on stores. He had the idea of rabbits; a low maintenance, cost effective way to grow our own meat. It sounded great to me since I already try to pinch pennies. This idea made my brain start storming all kinds of ideas. So from raising rabbits for meat to feed our family, we decided to go a few steps farther and raise fodder for our rabbits to help save on feed cost. With the potential to raise more than enough fodder, comes the opportunity to also sell fodder to locals. And when you have rabbits, what comes naturally with them?? POOP. Rabbit manure is one of the best fertilizers for your flowers and gardens. We raise our own produce so the fertilizer will definitely help with that. The potential to sell the fertilizer is an option, as well. We all know rabbits can produce like crazy, with that being said, we will also be selling rabbits as young as 8 week old. Our plan is to try and preserve as many pelts as possible. We will sell pelts if we have a market or individuals looking for them. Overall, these are our plans and what we are working everyday to achieve.

Now let's talk about who we are. I am Chasidy, a stay at home mom of three amazing, busy boys. I love the outdoors and being able to work in our garden and in the flowerbeds. I take great pride in my flowers and the opportunity to grow my own produce. I have lived on a farm and in the city; and I have to say I most definitely prefer the farm life. My parents crop farm and my goal is to have land of our own to farm animals. My family has raised sweet corn and sold it locally for over 50 years. I enjoy canning what we harvest and its a yearly tradition for my mom and me to can sweet corn together at the end of the season. I have a creative mind so I am always looking at new ways to improve our garden or our rabbitry. The rabbitry has truly turned into my baby.

My husband, Levi, works hard to keep our homestead dreams moving forward. He works full time in a factory along with a part time security job. He also coaches youth football for our boys. He is an avid fisherman and loves to be outdoors. He spends his free time smoking meat in the smoker, BBQing, riding his Harley, playing his guitar or finding new ways to be a prepper. He has never really lived the country life but the older he gets the more appealing it is to him. He is a very diverse person with knowledge that is beyond his years. And if he doesn't know something, you can bet he will find the information on it.

Our three sons keep us very busy, as well. Noah, our oldest, loves to farm and anything to do with tractors. He loves to help whenever and wherever he can. Noah loves to play football and enjoys being outside. He wants to be a farmer and a police officer when he is older. Our middle son, Luke, is our rambunctious one. He has a huge love for animals, no matter the kind. Luke plays football and basketball, with plans to play indoor winter soccer as well. He has more energy than the whole house combined. Noah and Luke both plan to start showing rabbits this year. Our third son, Liam, is our baby. He is only 3 and tries to go right along with his brothers in everything. He will be on the field with dad during football practice doing the same thing the team is doing. He loves animals, as well, but doesn't know the boundaries just yet. Our family loves to spend time together, going to the zoo, hiking and being in nature. This is just a tidbit of who we are as individuals and as a family.

As I continue to blog, I am sure you will see that we are a crazy and wild bunch that loves hard and enjoys life, especially together. We try to improve daily on our knowledge of being self sufficient and we take pride in teaching our boys how to do the same. I hope you all enjoy our website and continue to network with me. Feel free to connect with us on our Facebook page.

God Bless you all and have a wonderful day! :)
